 Be Kinder To Yourself

If I’ve learned anything over the last year, I’d say it’s that I can be so mean to myself without even realizing. I take for granted all the amazing things my body can and does do for me. This year it’s my goal to be nicer to myself. I want to take the time to appreciate all I’m doing and all my body can do. No, I may not have hit all my goals yet but I’m growing stronger every time I work out. And compared to a few months ago, I can do so much more. Take the time to be nice to your incredible body for the things it does for you.

Take Time To Be Quiet Daily

I’ve been a fan of meditation for the last few years. But if I’m honest, I don’t do it often enough. Over the last few months, I’ve realized how important those moments of quiet are in my life. Whether it’s taking a walk without your cellphone, meditating in the mornings or doing yoga in silence, I’ve found that the moments of quiet really make a difference. When your life is so filled with noise, it can be hard to hear what you really want or need. Checking in with yourself daily can be key. It’s definitely helped me to trust my intuition and given me the space to make harder decisions.

Drink More Water

When it comes to drinks, I’ve a 2/3 drink minimum kind of girl. By which I mean I pretty much always have 2-3 drinks next to me. Currently, it’s water and coffee but it changes throughout the day. One of the best things I’ve done for my skin and my health over the last few months is prioritizing my daily water intake. I’ve spoken about the app* I love to track water with a few times. But it’s great for keeping me accountable. And it also helps me to not snack so much because I’m actually meeting my body’s hydration needs.

Be Open To New Things

This is a vague one but it can apply in quite a few ways. Maybe you don’t like vegetables so being open to new things means trying one new veggie dish a week. Or maybe you really don’t like working out so trying a new class once a week/month is your thing. Whatever the case may be, I encourage you to reach past your comfort zone. All these amazing things you want for yourself won’t happen unless you do something. Be open to the possibility of trying something new. You never know what you’ll fall in love with this year that will change your life.

Write Down Your Goals

I’ve read a lot about manifesting in the last few months. And while there are different opinions and approaches, I do think that writing down what you’re looking to manifest in your life is the first step. The more I’ve gotten to know myself over the last year and the more I’ve been intentional about listening to myself the easier I’ve found it is to know what I want. If I write down a goal and it’s not quite sitting right, I know it’s probably not going to be something I work for. Taking the time to really sit with yourself and write down what you want will help you focus in.

Be Intentional

Along with your goals, you need a plan. And healthy habits don’t appear overnight. If you want to make the changes, you have to figure out how you’re going to do it. And they don’t all have to come at once. Maybe you start with one small goal but be intentional about doing it. Make it a priority in your life. And if the goal seems too big, figure out how to break it down into smaller goals. Be intentional about how you’re going to get from point A to point B. It may not work perfectly and you’ll probably have to adapt along the way. But putting a plan in place and intentionally making steps forward will help you create those healthy habits.

Eat More Veggies

I’ll be honest and say that I put this one here for me. As much as I preach about eating more vegetables, you should know I used to hate them. Give me a protein source and carbs and I’m a happy girl. So when it comes to veggies and making them one of my healthy habits, I have to be intentional. I try to build the base of my meals around my veggies. It’s what works for me. But if you’re looking to make changes, sneaking more veggies into your diet is one way to start.
