Warmer weather is coming. Well at least in Florida warmer weather is coming. Last year, I did a post of my favorite iced coffee recipes. But this year, I’ve been opting for the iced matcha a bit more. There’s just something about an iced matcha latte’s that always hit the spot. Paired with coconut milk and a smidge of honey, it’s the perfect caffeinated indulgence.
Besides budget, one of the main reasons I started making mine at home was sugar. A lot of the matcha powder’s used in coffee shops are already sweetened. If you add in a sweetened non-dairy milk, you’ve suddenly found your healthy green tea latte packed with tons of sugar.
I’ve tried a few different powders. DoMatcha is a favorite that I see in stores often. But my current favorite & go to for this recipe comes from Tropeaka. It’s rich in chlorophyll and antioxidants. Plus it’s a good price for the quality & quantity of matcha powder you get.
And the best part about this recipe? It requires less than 5 ingredients and is quick to make. Feel free to play around with the honey and non-dairy milk options to your preference. I’ve found that I like coconut milk over almond milk for this latte. But both would work quite nicely.
- 2 oz hot water
- 10 oz non-dairy milk (I prefer coconut)
- 1 tsp matcha powder
- 1 tsp - 1 tbsp honey*
- ½ cup ice
- Add hot water, matcha powder and honey to a blender**. Blend until combined.
- Add non-dairy milk to blender along with matcha milk. Blend until smooth.
- Pour over ice & enjoy!
**if your blender has individual cups, I'd recommend using them over the larger pitcher.
