It’s that time of the year. As the days of 2017 start counting towards a new year, the best of lists are rolling out. From Into the Gloss to Allure Beauty, there are so many lists filled with the best beauty products of 2017. I’ve managed to try a few throughout the last several months. More often than not, they live up to the hype. And I can safely say a few have made it into a permanent rotation of my most loved and used products. But instead of just focusing on the past year, I thought I’d do a bit of beauty bits worth the hype overview. Maybe you’ve wondered if you could justify spending the money on that mask. Or maybe you want to know whether that brow product is really worth it. Today I’m sharing my faves that I recommend time and time again.
Without a doubt this is the best eyebrow product I’ve tried. Is it perfect in every way? No. I think I’ve broken the spoolie bit off every one I’ve owned. But for the past few months I opted for cheaper versions to try to save some money for all the Christmas presents I want to buy. I only have a small bit left of one and every time I use it I remember why I love it so much. Many of the cheaper versions I’ve tried are a bit more waxy. They tend to glide and you don’t get the same precession you get with this product. If you are looking for an amazing eyebrow shaping product, I can’t recommend this enough. I use it daily with my Benefit Gimme Brow* and it’s my favorite.
This product is one I know a lot of people love but a lot are put off by the price point. It is currently rated 4.7 out of 5 stars on Sephora and is sold out if that tells you anything. I like to look at this one as a bit of an upfront investment. It does everything it says. The front reads that it exfoliates, resurfaces, peels, polishes and smooths. For one mask I’d say that’s asking a lot and it definitely delivers. While the price point might not be ideal, you only use a little at a time. I’ve been using mine for semi-regularly for almost two years and I haven’t even made it half way. I alternate using my acid toner with this mask and it’s done amazing things for my skin. I can’t say enough good things about it!
I love a good sheet mask. They are perfect for travel and easy to clean up. But when I tried this mask, it blew all my dinky little sheet masks out of the water. It’s incredibly hydrating and I can easily see why it won an Allure Beauty award. If you struggle with dry or dehydrated skin, I’d highly recommend trying this out. It sits on your face wonderfully and sinks in to the skin really well. And if you’re looking for a bit of de-puffing, throw it in the fridge for that added cooling effect. It’s a little more than drugstore pricing but nothing that’s so crazy you couldn’t splurge occasionally.
Over the years, I’ve seen quite a few people talk about this product. It’s a silicone based primer that makes your foundation go on like a dream. If you’re someone who opts for lighter or more natural make up looks, this might not be for you. But if you like to go full face or need your make up to really stay on, this is perfect. On days where I’m filming or for a night out, I layer this underneath. Now, like the brow wiz, I find I can agree with packaging issues with this primer. When you get to the bottom, it can be a bit awkward to get out. But every time I pair it with my Hourglass Vanishing Foundation, I find that I’m obsessed with the way my make up turns out.
Another product I recently tried to find a cheaper alternative for and regretted very quickly. I love this spray. The mister on it is probably on the best features but the spray itself is worth they hype. Again you’ll find this more useful if you wearing heavier make up. But it’s the top of the sandwich that makes everything stay in place. If you’re struggling to keep make up on your face or just aren’t setting your make up, I’d highly recommend trying this out. I find that it helps keep everything from eyeshadow to foundation to brows in place. It’s a must have for every beauty lover!
I love a bit of lip color but I totally get if it’s not your thing. I tend to find people either love it or can live without it. But this dior balm is the dreamiest and most subtle lip glow that everyone needs. It isn’t heavily pigmented but brings out the natural tone of your lips. It’s super moisturizing but adds that extra bit of glow to your face. If you can’t find a color you love or just really prefer a balm consistency, I’d highly recommend checking this one out. I can’t say I’ve found anything else quite like this. And I always get complements when I wear it. It just works for everyone!
With my shorter hair, I find that the one thing I’m always striving for is volume. I want my hair to look full, thick and healthy. And this little spray can does wonder for helping me achieve it. It’s got the most powerful spray on it that I’ve ever used and really does the job of taking my hair that extra step. I use it to give my curls that extra boost. I have fine hair. And while I have a lot of it, I need that extra bit of help to give me the full look I’m going for. If you’re looking for a way to get fuller hair and still haven’t found that one thing, I’d definitely give this a try!
And there you have it, my beauty run down. I’ve included links to everything so just click on the name of the product and it will take you to where you can read more reviews or buy it. Do you have any beauty products you’re obsessed with? Any products you love and think everyone else should know and love as well? Leave me a comment below and let me know. I love to try new things!
