An Afternoon In Rosemary Beach

There will always be those places that remind you of home. The place you go to regroup or just escape for a little bit. For years, Rosemary Beach has been one of my places. When I would come home in college, I loved to find time to sneak over and explore. And if I managed a weekend escape from film & Atlanta, I always tried to at least snag a coffee and wander the bookstore.

Luckily, I’m a lot closer these days. And it seems like every week something new is popping up in the area. So this past week I went for an afternoon with one of my faves and did a bit of exploring. One of these days, I’ll get better at vlogging. Right now I’m working on just being comfortable and remembering to use instagram stories. I’ll get there. But if you want to see what we got up to or just want ideas for your next trip, read on. Today’s post is all about spending an afternoon in Rosemary Beach, Fl.

Amavida

If you follow me on instagram, you’ll see that I frequent Amavida in Panama City. They’ve expanded their locations in the past few years beyond just Seaside & Rosemary. There’s even one in Destin now. But I always stop here when I’m doing a bit of wandering. I’ve done an entire post on them you can read here. This was the first place we went before starting our adventure. They have all sorts of pastries, lattes and even a few wines. Their cold brew coffee is also pretty amazing. I opted for a coffee with almond milk while A grabbed a dirty chai tea latte.

This location is great if you’re looking to snag some 30A gear or to grab a drink in between activities. They also have quite the selection of polos & shirts for sale. It’s also perfect for finding out what events are happening in the area. Be sure to check out the wall at the end of the counter that’s loaded with posters. From 5ks to concerts, it’s an easy way to see what’s happening in town in the next few months.

The Hidden Lantern

I’ll admit that I pretty much buy my life on amazon. And books are definitely at the top of that list. But it’s important to me that I support local shops so if I’m going to buy a book, this is one of the places I’ll go. Hidden Lantern is one of my favorites. It’s incredibly cozy and inviting. We did a brief rounding of the store and I took quite a few pictures of books I want to come back for later. Seriously, my current to be read pile is ridiculous.

If you’re looking for local books, best selling authors, kids books or even a good gift, this is the place to go. I’m always finding treasures on the shelves here. When you first walk in, you’ll find a selection of classic novels with fun, updated covers to your left. This is the store that started my growing collection of the classics. I’ve probably purchased something from most genres here as well. The store is incredibly organized and the staff is super helpful. It’s a great spot to escape to if you’re in the area.

Pish Posh Patchouli’s

The name of this one might be a bit confusing but it’s been one of my favorite finds over the years. It’s almost a mini wellness, skincare and clothing shop all wrapped into one. And the first thing you’ll notice immediately when you walk in is the smell. It’s incredible. They have a good range of candles & diffusers for sale within the shop. It’s also a great place to grab your clean beauty & spf for the beach. I always come in here just because it’s calming. But I also like to keep an eye on what products I can get close by if I fancy trying out new skincare.

You’ll find everything from Coola to Bumble & Bumble products on the shelves. They’ve also got a decent amount of travel sized products available if you just need something to tie you over. And the store has expanded within the last year to add a larger clothing section. If cozy lounge wear is your jam, you’ll want to check it out!

My Summer Kitchen Cafe

When I did my post on Rosemary Beach a while back, I mentioned this place as my top restaurant pick. Their menu is versatile enough that everyone can find something. And the prices make it an affordable but good option. So of course, with a craving for a mimosa & guacamole, we had to stop here for lunch. Honestly, there were so many things to choose from that it was difficult to decide. I opted for the arugula salad and it was amazing. I loved it so much I even made my own version at home the next day.

We opted to sit outside and enjoy a bit of sunshine but there’s also indoor seating and a bar. Like a majority of the restaurants in the area, there isn’t crazy amounts of seating. But if you time it right, you should be able to get a table. And be sure to try their guacamole. It’s incredible.

Tracery Interiors

You’ll notice our afternoon involve a fair amount of window shopping and quite a bit of picture taking. But Tracery is one of my favorite places to go for home inspiration and amazing coffee table books. From adorable coffee cups and pillows to amazing books and furniture, this place is always a must. Whether you’re on the hunt for a gift or looking to redesign a space, I’d recommend popping in. We did a bit of a walk-through here but I spotted quite a few items I’ll be gifting in the future.

And that was it for our adventures in Rosemary Beach. Quite a few pictures were taken and we continued to explore down 30A. But it was a wonderful afternoon filled with sunshine and great food.
